The Road Homeby ~Amotion

Traditional Art / Mixed Media

No particular story behind this one, more just a feeling of wandering, and that feeling of returning to a place after a long time; perhaps a sense of nostalgia or something. Just one of those pieces i had to do.

restricted myself to the use of raw umber acrylic (instead of black), i kept going to dark and losing the colour. Colour ink washes, black and white ink details and some dirt mixed in with the acrylic for the road texture

Again really good work, the combination between the sketchy style and the nostalgic sepia like tones work really well. These picures create a great atmosphere, like some empty, dusty road from the past. I like the suble yellowy green in the tree and the big looming clouds in the background. Very well done.

the clouds were actually the hardest part to get 'right' im still not overy impressed with them, they dont quite have the drama i want.
